Kashi Honey Sunshine Cereal
Monday, July 28, 2008 at 08:54PM I was in the cereal aisle of my local grocery store last Friday looking for Puffins when I spied, and bought a brand new Kashi cereal, Kashi Honey Sunshine. I was fooled a little by the enlarged picture of the square puffs on the front of the box (hi, apparently I cannot read), the actual size is about 1/4" square. When I got home I was surprised at the tiny little squares. It's a corn cereal and I had taste flashbacks from one of my all time faves as a child: King Vitamin!! (The previous link isn't the original packaging I remember when I was a wee lass. The KV box actually featured an old man dressed up in red velvet robes, wearing a crown...because as far as I knew when I was 5, he *was* King Vitamin).
Anyway, back to Kashi's new cereal (well, new to me) Honey Sunshine. It's light, crisp, honey sweetened (not too sweet) corn puffs...that are yummy alone, which is how I've only eaten them so far. A 3/4 c. serving is only 100 calories (10 cal from fat), 1.5 g of fat, 85 mg of potassium, 25g of carbs, 6g fiber, 6g sugar, and 2g of protein (sorry, it does contain wheat and soy ingredients).
Perhaps tomorrow I will venture away from my usual, Irish quick oatmeal, and have a bowl with some vanilla rice milk.
Yay Kashi! Another great cereal.
